Christmas lecture 2024: under the influence (in person at RCP at Regent's Park, London)
The festive season is almost here, and with it, the eagerly awaited RCP Christmas lecture!
This year, we’ll be joined by Dr Chris van Tulleken, infectious diseases doctor at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, UCLH and Dr Xand van Tulleken, associate professor in public heath, UCLH.
The twin brothers are also known for their work on the BBC, where they host the BAFTA award-winning series ‘Operation Ouch!’
The lecture is aimed at 12-18 year olds, and will improve their understanding of public health and the impact of commercial determinants including alcohol, tobacco, fossil fuels and food.
After the talk, in person attendees are invited to join us for a festive get together after the talks!
Adult tickets are £15 - all children can attend free of charge.
This is a hybrid event - if you would like to attend online click here.

I’m an adult but I am interested in this lecture, can I still book?
Adults are welcome to attend; however, as the lecture is aimed at children, we would like to prioritise in person tickets for attendees aged 12-18 years. We ask that adults book limited in person tickets where possible.
Can I stream this event at my school?
Yes! We welcome school screenings. The event will be available to watch live or on demand, so can be screened on a date that suits school’s term times.
If you are a teacher, please email conferences@rcp.ac.uk with the name of your school, approximately how many children will be watching and the date you plan to screen it. We will then arrange your booking.
