The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has published new educational and career guidance for specialist, associate specialist and specialty (SAS) doctors.
This guidance on educational and career support for SAS doctors is intended to support employers and clinical leads to create a high-quality local training pathway for SAS doctors.
It sets out college guidance on:
- SAS charter, advocates and tutors
- job plans and supporting professional activities time
- the portfolio pathway (formerly known as CESR)
- leadership roles for SAS doctors
- autonomous practice
- career progression.
