Christmas lecture 2025 Ultra-processed kids: when food goes viral (online only)
This year, we were delighted to welcome back Chris van Tulleken who is a professor of infection and global health at University College London.
Chris is also known for his work on the BBC, where he hosts the BAFTA award-winning series ‘Operation Ouch!’ with his brother, Xand.
The lecture, designed for 12–18-year-olds, explored the most important project of all life on earth – eating.
Chris toured the gastrointestinal tract and showed how we use food to build our bodies, and to fuel our movement as well as our thoughts. He highlighted how food sustains us, but also how the modern food environment can be harmful and what young people can do about it.
This lecture took place on Wednesday 10 December and is now available for you to watch on demand.
Can I stream this event at my school?
Yes! We welcome school screenings. The event is now available to watch on demand, so can be screened on a date that suits school’s term times.
If you are a teacher, please email conferences@rcp.ac.uk with the name of your school, approximately how many children will be watching and the date you plan to screen it. We will then arrange your booking.
