Navigating the Portfolio Pathway

This intensive one-day course is aimed primarily at internationally trained doctors who have recently arrived to work in the UK and are applying for specialist registration via the portfolio pathway (previously known as the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) pathway).

By the end of this workshop doctors will be able to:

• recognise the importance of developing and maintaining an individual portfolio
• augment your knowledge of the Portfolio pathway application process
• appreciate the overlap between the Portfolio pathway and revalidation
• identify the evidence that is needed for the Portfolio pathway
• understand how workplace-based assessments may be used to demonstrate equivalence to IMT and specialty curricula
• appreciate the importance of setting objectives
• set your own personal objectives relating to the Portfolio pathway.

Workshop includes: 

• presentation and Q&A session on the application process from the GMC's specialist applications team
• RCP clinical teaching faculty experienced in the portfolio pathway application process
• up-to-date facts and statistics on application success rates.
