The Whitney-Wood Scholarships have been made possible through a generous bequest from Dorothy Whitney-Wood and aim to provide funding for research in the fields of health and medicine.
Each Whitney-Wood Scholarship will provide funding of up to £50,000 for salary and direct project costs. Each grant is envisioned as funding a 12-month project on a full time basis, or a part-time equivalent over a longer period.
Eligibility
Applications in all areas of health and medicine will be seriously considered, however applications for research around the understanding and management of cancer are especially encouraged.
Applicants must be members or fellows of the RCP in good standing to apply.
Criteria
The research project will be assessed on:
- Contribution to furthering clinical science or improving healthcare through proposed research
- Extent to which CV of applicant validates proposed research
- Significance of proposed subject matter in the context of assessment criteria.
