The new northern site is positioned in the heart of Liverpool's medical and scientific precinct. It is considered a major gateway building within the Paddington Village development, which is being led by Liverpool City Council.

By train
Liverpool Lime Street Station is served by trains from across the UK, including from London, Manchester and Birmingham.
By bus
Bus services operate from the surrounding areas and drop off at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital or within walking distance of The Spine. To find information about times and services, please contact Merseytravel on 0151 330 1000 or visit the Merseytravel website.
On foot
The Spine is less than a mile from Lime Street Station and can be reached by walking directly up Mount Pleasant. There are several bus stops around the perimeter of The Spine and the Royal Liverpool Hospital serving all directions, and others within a short walk.
By bike
A cycle store is located in the public realm of the undercroft (40 spaces). The cycle store can be accessed via the undercroft. A swipe card programmed to The Spine will be needed to gain access via the pedestrian entrance and to then open the gate to the cycle store area.
If cycle access is required, please email liverpoolproperty@rcp.ac.uk. The same access card can then be used to gain entry to The Spine via the undercroft. To where the shower and locker facilities are available.
By car
Undercroft
The RCP has ten spaces available in the undercroft for Blue Badge holders and five spaces bookable for contractors and event organisers. All access must be pre-arranged with the workplace manager by email at liverpoolproperty@rcp.ac.uk.
Knowledge Quarter multi-storey car park (MSCP)
The MSCP is open to the public and the standard day tariff for visitors is £12.
