Palliative care: Enhancing conversations and enhancing care
This is Medical Care - driving change webinar. We explore improving the patient journey with proactive conversations and proactive palliative care.
We will hear from three expert speakers: Dr Mark Taubert on having good conversations to facilitate future care planning, Dr Daniel Monnery on Enhanced Supportive Care and Dr Charles Daniels on a new approach to opening challenging conversations, followed by a question and answer session.

Dr Dan Monnery
Consultant in palliative medicine and clinical lead for palliative and supportive care, Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
Dan is the national lead for Enhanced Supportive Care (ESC) within the UK Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (UKASCC), having been the NHS England national clinical advisor from 2021-22. His clinical work focusses on early symptom intervention through integration of supportive care services with a view to improving outcomes for patients from easier access to supportive care.

Hospital consultant and clinical director, Velindre University NHS Trust
Mark's academic activities at Cardiff University include advance & future care planning and new media in medical settings. He is the founder of TalkCPR.com and chairs the national future care planning strategy group for the NHS Wales Executive. He has delivered a Ted Talk on palliative care and writes for international news outlets like the Washington Post and the Guardian.
