Future Healthcare Journal editorial board

Do you want to help shape the future of healthcare? We are seeking new editorial board members for the Future Healthcare Journal (FHJ). Vacancies in social care, surgery, rheumatology, gastroenterology and oncology.

The Future Healthcare Journal, one of the stable of journals of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), publishes a broad variety of peer-reviewed papers concerning all aspects of our future healthcare, from future treatments, workforce planning and healthcare leadership to sustainability and digital health.

The FHJ is seeking to further diversify its multidisciplinary editorial board and is interested in hearing from social care professionals and surgeons, as well as consultants in rheumatology, gastroenterology and oncology, to complement the recent appointment of specialists in nursing, physiotherapy and infectious diseases. Experience in publishing is not essential and we champion diversity and inclusion.

Editorial board members contribute to managing the assessment and peer review of submitted papers as well as helping to develop the journal’s strategy, advocating for the journal and supporting relevant themed issues. The appointment is for a renewable 3-year term.

Service on the editorial board is an enjoyable and rewarding complement to clinical duties, and there is a warm and supportive collaboration with other board members and with staff in the Communications, Policy and Research Directorate of the RCP.

Please see the attached terms of reference for further details about the role. Expressions of interest, comprising a brief supporting statement together with a CV, are requested by Monday 14 October 2024 to FHJ@rcp.ac.uk
