Commentary election special

This 2025 election special edition of Commentary includes interviews with each of the presidential candidates.

Cover PRCP Election

Fellows who are standing for election prepare election materials to share their vision and priorities to voters. Voting runs from 17 March to 14 April when all election material will be available. However, candidates can start campaigning in line with guidance prior to this.

Candidates are encouraged to read the recently published Candidate code of practice for RCP elections 2025 and Social media principles and code of conduct guidance documents. 

Election timeline

  • 7 November – 16 December 2024 Nomination window – process now complete
  • 29 January 2025 Council to review nominations received - process now complete
  • End January 2025 Public announcement of candidates in all elections. Candidates may begin campaigning in line with guidance - process now complete
  • Mid March - Special edition of Commentary shared online, hustings filmed – process now complete
  • 17 March 2025 Voting opens – Civica Election Services to send voting invitation emails to all eligible voters, hustings film available online
  • 14 April 2025 (College Day) Online voting closes at midday in all elections. An option exists for in-person votes for president to be cast as part of the special general meeting. Presidential election result announced (successful candidate to take up post as soon as possible thereafter)
  • Late April 2025 Public announcement of results in CVP and councillor elections
  • 1 August 2025 Successful CVP and councillor candidates to take up office
