The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, of which RCP is a partner, has identified that incorrect exam results were communicated to a group of candidates in the UK and internationally who took the Part 2 written examination in September 2023.
We are apologising unreservedly to the candidates affected, recognising how distressing this news will be.
Federation are today directly informing all candidates of the issue and how it affects them, and one-to-one support will be offered from senior clinicians. Federation’s own audit processes identified the problem, which they confirm is isolated to this specific exam. They are putting processes in place to avoid it happening again, and will also have this work externally validated.
You can read the Federation’s full statement here.
