The RCP has signed a contract with Elsevier to publish its two peer-reviewed journals, Clinical Medicine (ClinMed) and Future Healthcare Journal (FHJ). This partnership provides the RCP journals with security and opportunity for growth, and the expertise to improve the impact of these generalist journals in an increasingly ‘specialist’ publication market. The RCP will preserve its existing editorial control and independence.
Both ClinMed and FHJ will be open access, and it will remain free for RCP members to publish in both journals. We’re pleased to launch with this rare opportunity and benefit for RCP members, as the vast majority of open access journals have a processing charge (APC) for all authors. Non-members whose papers are accepted for publication in ClinMed will be subject to an APC which will be introduced over a period of time, reaching 100% by 2026. FHJ will remain free to publish, as well as free to read, for all.
As the largest scientific publisher worldwide, Elsevier provides professional support and sophisticated platforms that will improve the editor, author, reviewer and reader experience throughout the online publication process. We are confident that this new partnership will increase the global impact and reach of both journals.
The new home of the RCP journals from 2024 will be:

- Future Healthcare Journal: www.sciencedirect.com/journal/future-healthcare-journal
