The RCP has responded to the Integration White Paper.
The government has outlined some of its aims to improve the links between the NHS and social care in its Integration White Paper.
In response to the paper, Andrew Goddard, president of the Royal College of Physicians, said:
“The Integration White Paper is a welcome step towards providing equal access to care for everyone in England regardless of where they live, but none of this is possible without the workforce to provide that care. We still don’t know how many medical staff to train up now in order to meet future demand.
"That’s why we’ve joined over 90 organisations in supporting an amendment to the Health and Care Bill that would set this right and ensure that, just like any successful organisation, NHS workforce planning projections are regularly compiled and published."
