Could you lead our global activities and engagement?

Recruitment is now open for three clinical leadership roles in our RCP Global team, global vice president, associate global director for the Americas, and associate global director for the Middle East and North Africa.

RCP fellows are invited to apply to become our next global vice president, associate global director for the Americas and associate global director for the Middle East and North Africa.

With members in more than 130 countries, examples of our global work include the delivery of membership engagement events, support for local member networks, joint conferences, seminars and webinars, clinical and non-clinical training sessions, projects and partnerships aligned to strategic aims such as the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACOP) and delivery of the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) scheme.

The global vice president is responsible for providing clinical leadership of the RCPs international membership, partnerships and projects. Associate global directors support the work of the global vice president and wider global team by acting as a representative and conduit for information to and from membership and partners in the region they represent. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong connection to and deep understanding of the region that they wish to represent.

Following Dr Omar Mustafa’s successful appointment to the role of RCP registrar, RCP fellows are invited to apply for the role of global vice president to take up post in May 2025. The tenure of the role is a fixed, 1-year term that can be extended for another three years following successful appraisal.

Provide clinical leadership to grow our international membership

The global vice president is responsible for providing clinical leadership of the RCP’s international membership and activities. Creative approaches to ongoing engagement with, and the continued growth and diversification of our substantial international membership, will be expected. Candidates should be able to demonstrate interest and experience in healthcare delivery and/or the provision of medical education inside and outside of the UK.

Help shape our new global strategy

The postholder will play a vital role in the shaping and delivery of our new global strategy, working with key personnel to determine the future strategic direction of the RCP’s global function. This presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate(s) to consider new, innovative and more sustainable methods for the delivery of our global work programme.

Travel internationally and within the UK

The postholder will be expected to spend some of their time travelling internationally and at events around the UK, acting as a senior clinical representative for the RCP. Job share applications are welcomed for this role.

Interviews will take place virtually via Microsoft Teams on Monday 31 March 2025.

The successful candidate(s) will take up office upon appointment in May 2025.
