Course content
Across the three online teaching days, delegates will participate in discussions and activities surrounding educational theory on collaborative learning, reflection and evaluation. Some of the topics you will explore include:
- characteristics of adult learners
- roles of a teacher in the clinical setting
- how to enhance your own practice as a medical educator
- peer observations and the 'critical friend' model
- obtaining effective feedback from colleagues
- approaches for assessing learners' progress
- strategies for reflection.
Course assessment
Delegates will undertake one small-scale educational project in their own workplace. They will use the workshops to discuss these projects, refine ideas and provide support to their peers. A brief report of these projects is submitted and assessed by the RCP tutors.
